David Schwartz vs. Verizon Wireless
"Stop Deceiving Your Customers About Upgrades"
-
David Schwartz I called Verizon about an upgrade to my DVR. During the phone call I was also offered an "upgrade" of my TV service package. I was told that I would receive more channels at a better value. After the upgrade I lost many of the channels that I was previously receiving. When I questioned customer service about this I was told that the new, upgraded package was not actually a direct replacement for the package I previously had and if I wanted the channels that I previously had I would have to pay an additional $20 per month. I did not want to make the change to the "upgraded package" but did so on the premise that the "upgraded" package would be better. This is clearly not the case. I was lied to by the customer service agent. I have spoken to a supervisor at Verizon and they tell me there is nothing they can do now that the change has been made. This is clearly a deceptive practice that has left me and my family in an unhappy predicament.
