Edwin vs. Chase
"Stop telling me different stories every time I call customer service"
-
Edwin I purchased a vehicle through a private sell in which Chase was the lien holder on 10/1. The seller and I went to my bank (not Chase) to finalize the purchase on his pay-off amount. My bank called Chase in an effort to expedite the title transfer in which the Chase representative acknowledged the fact the my bank was overnighting pay-off amount in addition to a FedEx Airway Bill so that when payment clears, they can overnight title/lien release letter back, they agreed, and stated it will arrive by the end of week 10/6. On the 2nd week, Monday the 8th, I called to check on status of transaction, rep. stated that it will arrive within the next 2 days. On the 3rd day, Thursday the 11th, I called, and they stated that they don't have a title but will be sending a lien release letter, I asked them will it be overnighted as agreed, the rep. stated that they don't do that. The following day, Friday, I called again, the rep. this time stated that, the letter was sent directly to a nearby DMV and that they spoke to a "Mercedes" that she has the title and will be awaiting my arrival. You will think I'll be happy that this was over right, nope!, I arrive at the DMV, waited on line for about an hour, the DMV employee tells me, "who told you that the title was here?" a Chase rep., I replied, and added that they spoke to a Mercedes, the employee smiled and said there's no Mercedes here. Can you feel my pain? now, I called the seller in which they stated to him that the letter is on it's way to my bank that it was sent on Monday the 8th, I'm venting Sat. the 13th here, still with no letter.
