Jessica Adams vs. AT&T and YAHOO
"Change their email practices of MERGING emails!! They do not have the right to full control of my other personal emails just because I merged them!"
-
Jessica Adams We had high speed internet with SBC Global. When AT&T bought SBC Global, we were asked to merge our AT&T email with another email. I merged my YAHOO. (At the time, I thought that it would just forward my AT&T mail to my YAHOO since my YAHOO was my "main" email.)
Under my husband's AT&T email, I signed up for a "SUB-ACCOUNT" which I merged my YAHOO with.
Years later I decided to delete my "SUB-ACCOUNT", and IT COMPLETELY GOBBLED UP MY YAHOO MAIL. AT&T did not "release" my "merged" email - my YAHOO email became totally inaccessible -
I spent HOURS UPON HOURS, and days upon days with both AT&T AND YAHOO - at one point I had them on the phone at the same time. AT&T claims that since I deleted THEIR sub-account - that the email now belonged to YAHOO. YAHOO said that since AT&T did not "release" the account - that it still belonged to AT&T.
Either way - ALL OF MY BUSINESS CONTACTS, YEARS (10 years to be exact) of every kind of contact, stored emails, etc. are now LOST AND UNACCESSIBLE. Some off the wall Yahoo "help" place said someone in Texas hacked the account and was using it?!?!?!?! WTHeck?!?!
AT&T needs to "RELEASE" the personal emails when ever we DELETE one of theirs that has a personal email merged with it! IT NEEDS TO BE AN AUTOMATIC RELEASE!!! I did not give them permission to delete or tie up my YAHOO account.
