Mike Chandler vs. AT&T

"Limiting and suspending service on my 'Unlimited' data plan for my mifi device"

  • Mike Chandler

I have had a data card through AT&T since December of 2011, and have always been on an UNLIMITED plan. Recently, AT&T has decided that unlimited means 5GB data cap. They have throttled my service and even suspended it because I went up over the 5GB. This has always been an unlimited plan, and they tell me that it was always a 5GB 'soft' data cap, and that they just didn't choose to enforce it until recently. Upon talking to AT&T reps on chat, I've been given conflicting information. The same person tells me that it used to be unlimited and now it's not as well as that it was always a 5GB soft data cap. When reviewing my data usage on ATT.com, it shows the word UNLIMITED in multiple places, but they still cut me off.
