Matthew Leik I have a bit of a mental/ Medical condition. i dont want to get into the technical mumbo jumbo so lets just say that i am a severe germaphob and have real issues with dirt and debris. I chose to buy the white iphone for this reason, i thought to myself, White is clean and i would notice any smudges or dust and could wipe it down and be done with it. this worked perfectly for about a year but them the phone starting getting light scratches by the mouth piece, normal wear and tear and thats fine but here comes the issue... these scratches have now ben caked with dirt from my pocket and where ever i put the phone down and i cant get it out. i use alcohol and q-tips, i have even bought a series of sewing needles to be bale to get the dirt out but its still there. there was also a few operational issues with the phone so i took it back to apple, explained what the issues were and they graciously gave me a new phone. i also explained my mental condition and begged them for a black phone because no matter how scratched the black phone got i wouldn't be able to see the dirt. they would not do it. i called customer service and explained my situation again for over an hour and they said no again so i requested the number to corporate and an email address of someone who i could write too and they would not give me the information. Luckily for me i have a friend in NY that is a former Apple employee and he gave me all the info i needed. i have now reached out to Tim Cook ( CEO), Bruce Sewell ( VP & General Council) and even Al Gore, Yes... the former VP of the US is a board member. my point is i am not asking for anything for free, i am not asking for an upgrade. the phones are exactly the same price no matter what the color is. they have agreed to give me a new phone because something inside the phone broke so why cant they give me the new phone in black? i now have my phone in a ziplock bag with 2 tiny holes in it so people can hear me because i cant get myself to put the dirt inside the scratches up to my mouth. i have small panic attacks every time i need to use the phone. i know i sound crazy but i cant help it, this is not my choice, i have a real condition that i take medication for i have spent thousands of dollars in my home using special coatings and paint treatments that are easy to wipe and do not get dirty. this is a serious issue. not that it matters but i am a very loyal customer of Apple. i have the iMac, macbook pro, macbook air, iPad, iPod nano watch, apple TV, apple extreme wifi and the not to mention countless ipods over the years and all i am asking is for a color change to bring some normalcy back to my life and they out right REFUSE to help me. not only am i hurt that they would treat a customer this way but i am down right ANGRY that i have spent thousands of dollars on this company and now i look at all of my devices with disgust. my complaint is apple needs to start listening to their customers, it shouldn't matter if the person spends 1million dollars or 79.00 dollars on an accessory something that can be fixed to make a customer happy and that wouldn't cost the company any money should be don for the customer. i am now in the process of saving money and selling my iphone so i can but a android of soetype IN BLACK. and i will slowly start to thin out my Apple products and go back to PC. yes, they are the best but i am just hurt that a request so small wouldnt be granted for me.
